ABSTRACT

The spaces which children, educators and parents inhabit are a significant feature of the Reggio Approach; the quality of the environment is both an expectation and an entitlement. The architecture and layout of the preschools and infant-toddler centres reflect the aesthetics of their surroundings, emphasising space, light, form and colour. The piazzas, ateliers and courtyards reflect the squares, galleries, museums and parks of the city itself.
