ABSTRACT

Wherever possible, specific areas of the curriculum and therapy targets should be covered in one activity, although care must be taken to ensure the activity is achievable both cognitively and physically. Simple games can be devised for younger pupils to learn basic colours, shapes, sizes, numbers, letters, words, etc. which will be useful for the whole class. Games and activities can also be linked to curriculum topics such as the Romans or living things. The important element is to think laterally and devise how the activity or game will be played, including placement of items, size of objects, adaptations of cards, containers or templates used and utensils to be introduced.
