ABSTRACT

As a manager you are responsible for delivering an Early Years service. Such a service can only be delivered through the work of other people.

The management of other people is the area on which most managers spend the majority of their time, energy and worrying power. How to get the 'right' staff in place, with the 'right' skills, knowledge and attitudes, to maintain a consistently good service can become the Holy Grail aim that is always hoped for but never quite attained.
