ABSTRACT
In order to make decisions regarding mitigation actions, it is important for policy makers to have a uniform basis of comparison between the climate impacts of different greenhouse gases. Carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) is a metric that facilitates this comparison. It does so by normalizing the emissions from different greenhouse gases into the equivalent emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), based on the global warming potential (GWP) of each gas.
