ABSTRACT

Twickenham, January 1925. The unbeaten All Blacks reach the climax of their tour with a match against England. Queues had begun forming at the gates of ‘HQ’ since the early hours of the morning and cars had quickly filled every inch of spare ground around the stadium. A record 60,000 spectators were joined at this carnival of Empire solidarity by the Prince of Wales, the future Edward VII and a keen rugger fan. Expectations ran high.
