ABSTRACT

Parents are understandably concerned when their children seem not to be making the progress in school that they expect. They often see children at home who are bright, aware, happy and able, rapidly becoming miserable and demotivated when placed in an educational environment. They are often aware that it is not anyone’s fault in particular, as they know that other children in their families or in the neighbourhood are doing well and are happy. This may cause parents to have feelings of stress, anxiety, guilt, anger and fear.
