ABSTRACT

One of the fascinating aspects of being a teacher is that no matter how talented and committed you are, regardless of how much effort you are prepared to make, and no matter what status you attain, there is always room for improvement and parts of the job that you never fully master. It has become commonplace to classify teachers’ progress under the descriptor professional learning and there is an expectation that all teachers will endeavour to enhance their knowledge of the curriculum, teaching methods and innovative practice.
