ABSTRACT

The findings highlighted in Chapter 6 are discussed here. Key governance elements of Taiwan’s medical and humanitarian aid were introduced in the previous chapter and put in the broader perspective of the global aid system. In this chapter the various elements of governance systems identified in Chapter 2 again serve as a guide to the analysis. The significance of Taiwan’s initiatives and experiences in the field of medical and humanitarian aid to developing countries is assessed, as is their relevance to the outcomes Taiwan targets.
