ABSTRACT
The end of the Cold War is by no means “the end of history.” States are still the major actors in international politics although non-state actors, such as terrorist groups, non-government organizations, multilateral institutions, and international companies have exerted increasing influence on state behavior and interactions. War and peace remain the major issues occupying the media headlines while states are still fighting for security, power, influence, and prestige.
