ABSTRACT
In recent times, a large number of villagers in most developing countries have moved to town. This often involves a move straight from a life more primitive than village life in Europe in the Middle Ages, to a big town with city lights, cinemas, urban traffic and modern shops. This sudden and radical change in conditions and outlook is more extreme than it was in the recent or past rural-urban migration of industrialized countries.
