ABSTRACT
We often hear and read about children and youth as a nation’s future, its greatest resource. Yet, juxtaposed against this hopeful message are tragic stories of abuse, neglect, and violence toward the most vulnerable among us. Because of the natural human instinct across cultures to protect and defend innocent children, it is all the more heart-rending to observe the continuation of violence against children.
