ABSTRACT
In this first chapter we only give a brief description of what we mean by a school network. Our aim is to introduce you to the key ideas that will be developed in later chapters when we discuss how to design, establish, lead and sustain a network of schools. At this point though we do attempt a much fuller answer to our second question.
