Order and justice in international relations – a theoretical and analytical framework

This chapter outlines the theoretical and analytical framework that provides the basis for the case study analyses. The main theoretical approach is based on the English School of International Relations combined with a constructivist view to increase the focus on norms and how they enable and constrain state action. The central focus is on the confl ict between order and justice and how it is dealt with in the English School through its pluralist and solidarist approaches.1
