ABSTRACT

Introduction The first part of the chapter focuses on what the Every Child Matters (ECM) outcome ‘make a positive contribution’ entails. It links this ECM outcome to the United Nations Charter on the rights of the child, and their views. It goes on to describe how teaching assistants (TAs) can support this aspect of learners’ well-being, and in particular, ensuring that the voice of the child or young person is promoted and supported.
