ABSTRACT
This case study examines land degradation in the Fitzroy Valley in Western Australia. The main land use activity is grazing. An explanation is provided of the causes of land degradation. The main technical and institutional mechanisms required to restore range condition and improve land management are described. An economic analysis is conducted of the consequences of degradation and the benefits of rehabilitation. A theoretical model of grazing management is presented in an appendix.
