ABSTRACT
The evolution of environmental awareness is gradually producing a shared understanding worldwide of the need to live within the Earth's capability to sustain life. The scientific bases of the problems and the solutions are being refined and better understood. More people are learning what this means for them at home and at work. There is now wide recognition that robust solutions depend on sound ecology, viable economics and social justice.
