ABSTRACT
Given rapidly rising rates of urbanization, deforestation and foreign trade imbalances, it is vital to begin facing the problems of how to ensure urban energy supply. As we have seen, little reliable information exists and there is an urgent need for a more detailed investigation of urban energy demand and supply, patterns of use, and price movements over time.
