ABSTRACT
Hence the erosion of soil, the most widespread form of soil degradation (a term which also includes such processes as acidifi cation, salinization and compaction), is an important environmental issue. is importance is all the more pressing when we consider the fact that the world’s human population is increasing, along with its use of resources, and we know that natural rates of soil formation are slow, essentially making it a fi nite resource.
