ABSTRACT

Chapters 4, 5 and 6 offer three approaches to playbuilding: theme-based, character-based and location-based playbuilding for the different types of learners: Beginner (Level 1), Intermediate (Level 2) and Experienced (Level 3) playbuilders. These chapters provide specific models for teachers to use and experiment within the classroom. The teaching strategies scaffold within this framework and therefore they represent a progression of teaching and learning. Each section of the chapters is a discrete unit of work but teachers can also use segments from each section to create their own unit of work if that is more suitable for their particular students.
