ABSTRACT
The emphasis here is placed on the environmental impacts associated with the use of low-grade solid fuels along with the identification of measures which will mitigate the potential negative effects of mining or harvesting, transporting, processing and using low-grade solid fuels. The concept of environment is used in its broadest sense and is meant to include the physical, biological, health, social and economic components of the environment as well as the interaction between and among these individual components.
