ABSTRACT
If low-grade fuels are available, the possibility exists that applications other than energy production will be found for these fuels. As with lowgrade fuel use, the environmental implications for alternatives such as chemical feedstock derivation or soil enhancement must be clearly assessed and any negative effects mitigated or eliminated.
