ABSTRACT
Malawi is characterized by a marked north-south division of biomass resources. There are high potential biomass reserves north of 12° 30'S, an area mainly restricted to the Northern Region. The Southern and Central Regions, and the southern parts of the Northern Region are characterized by a much lower overall level of potential although there are limited occurrences of high biomass potential.
