ABSTRACT
THE FOLLOWING investigation was undertaken for the purpose of studying the psychological effects of thyroid deficiency in childhood, and what benefit substitution therapy provided for the mental retardation. As the material accumulated other questions presented themselves (chiefly concerned with growth), and led to some alteration in the intended method of presentation.
