ABSTRACT
It is sometimes helpful to look at how the names are formed, for example, cube and cuboid. Students can listen for the word ‘cube’ in ‘cuboid’ and then match the first three letters. Discussing the fact that ‘cuboid’ is a longer or ‘more stretched out’ word than ‘cube’. Comparing the shapes with their written names will help students to remember which shape name belongs to which shape.
