Logistic regression for binary response variables

Binary response variables (where the outcome can take one of only two values) are surprisingly common, occurring naturally in many research projects. Examples include being employed or not, reoffending or not, passing or failing an examination and so on. When the response variable is binary, multiple regression should not be used, but logistic regression should be used instead.
