ABSTRACT
Up to now all the models we have been looking at have had one unit or level of analysis, usually the individual. However, it is often the case in the real world that our research interest involves relating data from more than one unit of analysis or across different levels. The best known example of this is from education (and it is no coincidence that educational researchers have been at the forefront of multilevel modelling).
