Surprised at this level of public relations activity in Latin America at the time? You should not be. Public relations in Latin America has a long, complex history that continues to inform the practice’s exciting future today. As we shall see in this chapter, understanding the origins of public relations in Latin America will help today’s practitioner be better-prepared for a dynamic public relations environment. Flash forward to today and it may be surprising that many Latin American public relations professionals still note the same interests and concerns as in previous decades.
