ABSTRACT

After reading a couple of chapters on self-efficacy in sport, any reader should be able to note several similarities in content – even if the chapters have been written by different authors. These similarities are because the tenets of selfefficacy theory have withstood the test of time. What has changed, however, is the amount of research that has tested the theoretical propositions of selfefficacy theory, and how this research has been used as a guide for the development of effective interventions.
