ABSTRACT

Analyzing relations between Iran and the West requires a political, economic, and social framework that can be developed through the analysis of the development of Iran’s relations with Germany. This model provides one with the necessary historic platform upon which further examination can be fully conducted. Understanding the current issues of contention between Iran and the West will only be made possible through the full breakdown of how relations between Iran and Western countries, such as Germany, have developed over the years and what factors, both internal and external, have impacted relations. Therefore, the first section of this study will set forth the overall framework of Iran-Germany relations and will provide an inside view of the development of that relationship after the fall of the Berlin wall.
