ABSTRACT

The general shape of the MBCT programme is eight weekly 2to 2.5-hour-long sessions preceded by a pre-course orientation and assessment session (see Point 18 for further details of this). There is a structured schedule of home practice, which involves 45 minutes per day of a formal mindfulness practice, some daily life informal practices and some recording of observations of experiences. Many programmes include a day of guided mindfulness practice during week six, which offers participants a sustained experience of mindfulness practice.
