The study of public management in Hungary. Management and the transition to democratic Rechtsstaat

We are living in the decades of a worldwide trend of public management reforms. Hungary became part of these reform efforts from the very beginning of its transition to democracy. This chapter will show that, though located in central Europe, Hungary has been evolving similar management reform trends to the patterns of west European countries. We shall confirm that Hungary, as a new member of the European Union, has become an integral part of continental Europe, albeit with distinct Hungarian problems and approaches.
