ABSTRACT
Ensuring that all students secure success and attain the necessary skills and capacities to lead successful and productive lives requires an alignment of funding and these intended outcomes. This imperative lay at the heart of Chapter 7, where the issue was the manner in which resources are allocated to schools in a self-managing system. However, ensuring that schools are sufficiently and appropriately funded is only the beginning. It is then the responsibility of the principal and others in the school community to ensure that the resources that have been allocated are deployed in the most effective and efficient ways possible to enable expectations for each and every student to be realised.
