ABSTRACT

Danish aid volume is kept at a constant level of 1% of the Gross National Income. 2 This amounts to DKK 10,988 million in 1998. Furthermore, as an outcome of the Rio Summit, a special appropriation – the Environment and Disaster Relief Facility – is donated to environmental protection and emergency relief both in the South and in East European countries. This amounted to DKK 389 million in 1996, and is planned to reach the level of 0.5% of the Gross National Income (DKK 6,630 million) by the year 2002. Around 40% of this is allocated to environmental aid in developing countries.
