ABSTRACT
The main policy decision on overseas aid by the present Finnish government, which came to power in 1995, was the ‘decision-in-principle’ released in Autumn 1996. This decision (see The Reality of Aid 1997) was to be complemented by a comprehensive political strategy for Finland’s relations with the developing countries by the end of 1997. However, this is now expected to be issued only in mid-1998.
