ABSTRACT
Denmark has donated 1% of its Gross National Income (GNI) to development aid for many years, and it is still the Government’s policy to do so. The new EU system of measuring GNI requires an increase in aid volume in absolute terms (of around 10%) from the year 2001, in order to keep to the 1% goal, and it is most likely that the political support for this exists. 1
