ABSTRACT
Some significant events and decisions have influenced Finnish development cooperation since mid-1998. These are, most notably:
The Finnish Government issued the statement ‘Finland’s Policy on Relations with Developing Countries’ in October 1998;
The DAC peer review on Finnish development cooperation was issued in November 1998;
Parliamentary elections in March 1999 resulted in a new government and a new programme for the next four-year electoral period.
