ABSTRACT
In 1998 Italy gave 0.2% of national income to ODA; that is a net improvement from 0.15% in 1997. But this figure cannot be considered the beginning of a new positive trend, because it simply reflects the obligatory periodical replenishment of multilateral funds by the Treasury Ministry that occurred in 1998, after delayed Parliamentary approval.
