Well, I don’t think schools have reached that point yet. It’s certain, though, that many teachers feel their senior management team is out of touch. A spot check on the TES website forums revealed 14,000 posts mentioning ‘SMT’, very few of them even neutral, let alone complimentary: ‘twaddle we’re forced to endure from smt, govt, ofsted etc’; ‘demanding pupils, demanding smt, demanding parents’; ‘the likes of smt continue to rant’; ‘power-tripping smt’.
