ABSTRACT
Why has it proved so difficult to build effective bridges between our schooling systems and the communities that constitute our Traveller populations, and what are the inclusive challenges for classroom practice? How can teaching assistants play their part? This chapter is intended to raise awareness about cultures and lifestyles which are all too often misunderstood, and to explore implications for practitioners.
