ABSTRACT
The Arts and Crafts Movement was a revolution in architectural philosophy which arose in England in the latter part of the nineteenth century, led by William Morris. It placed emphasis on the materials themselves and the individual craftsmen rather than mass production of inferior goods. It also had a social and political dimension as Morris was a social reformer as well as an architect.
