The re is also the p rob lem of incompatabi l i ty between the students' n o r m a l , or preferred, l ea rn ing styles and those demanded by the materials . Some students prefer to learn by l is tening and discussing i n groups and m a y have little experience or ski l l i n l ea rn ing alone from a book. Such differences are often cu l tura l , p romoted by the way that the local educat ional system operates.
