ABSTRACT
In this chapter we shall examine in detail the current trends in the curriculum in mainstream and special schools. We shall be discussing ways in which specialist support staff can work at the centre of this curriculum rather than on the periphery as they often do now. The view of a unified curriculum will be presented and its potential for enhancing collaborative work between professionals will be explored.
