ABSTRACT
Although assessment has been mentioned several times in previous chapters, we feel that a section devoted to this subject is necessary to enable sufficient discussion of the aspects that particularly relate to support services and the curriculum. An overview of assessment in special education will be presented alongside the current scene of National Curriculum assessment. Opportunities for collaboration between professionals will be explored and ways of achieving pupil involvement in assessment will be presented as a centre-piece.
