ABSTRACT

While other approaches to CBT do recognise that people disturb themselves about their disturbances, none focus on this phenomenon as much as REBT. The fact that humans disturb themselves about their disturbance has been variously referred to as symptom stress (Walen, DiGiuseppe, & Dryden, 1992), problems about problems and meta-emotional disturbance, which literally means emotional disturbance about emotional disturbance (e.g. Dryden, 2002).
