ABSTRACT

As discussed above, REBT encourages clients to make a ``profound philosophic change'' preferably across the board, but if this is not feasible, then in as many areas as possible and certainly on the problems for which they have been seeking help. The essence of such change is belief change. But what do REBT therapists do when our clients are not able or do not wish to change their beliefs from irrational (rigid and extreme) to rational (¯exible and non-extreme)?
