Developments in early years policy and provision over the last few years have been overwhelming in their importance for young children and their families.The issue has taken centre stage for the government and is built into the narrative of the press.The high profile that early years policy has enjoyed has secured it a place in every household’s conversation, and has placed it on the agenda of human resources (HR) professionals, bankers and investors alike; there are now accountants and estate agents, insurance brokers and architects specialising in the early years sector.The most recent legislative initiative, the first-ever Childcare Act 2006, has enshrined
high-quality early years provision.
