ABSTRACT

This book has attempted to project a realistic approach to the foundations, concepts and issues of ecotourism as they currently exist. At the outset it was suggested that there is no question that vastly disparate views exist on how ecotourism ought to be constructed in theory and practice, and these positions quite naturally stem from the many different angles that we approach the subject (e.g. economics, ecology, anthropology; park management, marketing, service provision). Different priorities and values can lead to greatly different outcomes.
