ABSTRACT

In recent decades, intellectual interest in women’s issues has increased,

especially since the ‘‘feminist revolution’’ of the 1960s. Women moved from

the traditional positions in which they were restricted (housework, children

education, transmission of traditional values, and the preservation of family

cohesion) to sectors traditionally occupied by men (media, business, and

security forces). Therefore, it became crucial for scholars to survey and to

analyze this transformation from sociological and political perspectives.
