ABSTRACT
Over the years since 2000 economic reform has taken practical effect in the Kingdom. Reforms which had been long discussed and considered, were now implemented. Particular attention in this chapter will be given to the regulatory changes which laid the basis for reform. The wider developments in the economy will be traced through a similar range of data as in Chapters 3 and 4, but less space will be devoted to analysing their significance. The analysis and assessment of the developments are the concern of Chapter 7.
