ABSTRACT
The previous chapter demonstrated that similar structural adjustment policies were not implemented in similar ways in India and Pakistan. Differ-
ences in labor institutions and organizations account for much of that
variance. This chapter investigates the changing nature of employment and
work in the Indian and Pakistani economies.
